Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus) (1)
- Reported Jul 13, 2026 18:00 by Jim Royer
- My House, 337 Henrietta Ave., Los Osos US-CA (35.3172,-120.8507), San Luis Obispo, California

The wing flapping was sharp and quick in little or no wind. There was very little head projection, the tail was squared off with little noticeable light terminal tail band. Cooper’s is definitely the expected accipiter now, but this looked to be a Sharp-shinned. We have no known Cooper’s or Sharp-shunned nesting nearby this year, although in recent last years Cooper’s have nested nearby. It was an adult."
Swainson's Hawk (Buteo swainsoni) (1)
- Reported Jul 14, 2026 07:24 by Will Knowlton

- Comments: "Continuing individual near the county line that has been previously observed at this location on May 28, June 4, and July 9, 2026. It's continued presence in this area makes me think it likely nested nearby, possibly just north of the county border in Monterey County."
