Vermont’s own BBC is fictitious, as are all the birders, but the birds and birding locations are real – and each book has a happy ending!
My first bird-themed historical novel, Sagebrush Sojourn, was also released recently. The book takes place in central Montana in 1890 and features a young woman who accompanies her grandfather after he is hired to do the first scientific census of birds in the area. (I apologize for the cover illustration! It’s instantly recognizable as Wyoming, even though I contacted the publisher twice and asked for buttes rather than mountains.)
