Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Whippoorwill back at Mesa college!
The whippoorwill sp. found by a non-birder named Sally Boyer 6 days ago at Mesa College is back again today, Saturday, and refound at exactly the same spot, although instead of being up against the building, it's right across the walkway sitting in shady leaf litter right across from room k105. So find Building K in the middle of the campus. We will stay for a whil to keep tabs on it. Since I was on Highway 163, I entered the campus on Mesa College Drive and once inside campus one block I turned left at the light. I went down that road just past the tennis courts and parked along the road there and then walked North or Northwest to building k which is not too far. Parking on campus on weekends and before 7:00 a.m. And after 4:00 p.m. on weekdays is free.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://sandiegofieldornithologists.org/san-diego-county-avian-records-database/.
