Subject: Roseate Spoonbill and White Ibis BKNWR
Just heard from Daniel Denman that there are currently TWO Roseate Spoonbills and several immature WHITE IBIS at the refuge this morning. All were seen in Cell 2. Look for Anhinga too. They've been in the area. If you go and the Spoonbills aren't in this area, try Birch Pond. They often roost for a while in the morning in the trees along the backside of the pond. (This pond is on the gravel road that winds south of Huntsman, just before the concrete low water bridge on Overflow Creek.)
At Mingo Creek Road (about 5 miles east of the refuge), folks have been seeing Neotropic Cormorants on the south pond. This is a highly unusual bird to see in White County.
