Dear Arkansas Birders:

The Arkansas Bird Alliance (aka Arkansas Audubon Society) email account
received the following email this week. I can't verify any of the details
or vouch for the program, but I offered to pass it along to this list
serve. Pursue at your own risk! (But I'd love to see you photos!)

From <rsilber...>:

I'm writing as a member of the Montgomery County Maryland Bird Club and
also I'm the Executive Director of International Mountain Trekking (IMT) (
imtnepal.com). I wanted to share a birding adventure that may be of
interest to your members. In February 2027, IMT is launching “Wings of
Nepal,” a 16-day birding expedition departing February 12, 2027 from
Kathmandu. You can learn more by clicking here: www.imtnepal.com It will be
led by California naturalist David Wimpfheimer — who has guided for the
Smithsonian and the California Academy of Sciences — alongside the renowned
Nepali naturalist Rajendra Suwal, and it travels the full sweep of Nepal's
habitats, from the Himalayan foothills to Chitwan National Park in Nepal’s
jungle lowlands. Nepal is home to more than 800 species, including the
Himalayan Monal, its national bird, and target species range from the Satyr
Tragopan and Ibisbill to the Spiny Babbler, Nepal's only true endemic. I've
also attached a feature article I've written, "From the Roof of the World,"
about birding in Nepal. If it would suit including in your newsletter or
journal, be delighted for you to publish it, and I'm happy to tailor the
length or focus to fit your needs. Beyond that, I'd be grateful for any way
you might help spread the word to your members — a short notice, a mention
in an email newsletter, or a listing among your sponsored birding travel
opportunities. I'd also be honored to give a presentation on birding in
Nepal at a chapter meeting. Thank you for considering this. Sending best
regards, Richard F. Silber Executive Director International Mountain
