Subject: [Tweeters] Avibase website
Dear Tweeters,
From time to time, the Avibase website helps one clarify taxonomic conundra. Avibase shows the history of scientific names for a bird species, starting with the original description, and is useful for investigating lumps, splits, and name changes, whether English or scientific, or even in other languages such as Spanish or French or German.
Lately, though, the website has balked every time I try to use it. Restarting the computer, closing and reopening the website, and all the other usual tricks fail to get the website to load.
The website's address is
avibase.bsc-eoc.org
and it is reported to be up and running, according to online tools such as "Down for everyone or just me?"
Might anyone in Tweeterdom have a suggestion as to how to get this thing to work?
Thanks.
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
