Got word that the Roseate Spoonbill is continuing at the refuge this morning -- but it's currently roosting at Birch Pond. This pond is less than a mile from the low water crossing on Huntsman Rd. Just take that gravel road south and you'll see the cypress/buttonbush pond on the left...and possibly a Spoonbill at the top of one of the taller trees. This is also where we find Black-crowned Night-herons this time of year.

The Roseate Spoonbill was seen again yesterday, plus a White-faced Ibis and a Willet. All in Cell 2.

There's a single ROSP at the Bald Knob National Wildlife Refuge. It's a different individual than the one from June 22 and appears to be a juvenile. It's currently in Cell 2, which is the second cell west of Coal Chute Rd.
