Dear Labird —
As a non-visual birder, one of my favorite activities involves tuning in to PGA events on tv and IDing the birdlife that the high tech mics pick up.
Generally, it would be hard to beat me on eastern U.S. courses and I’m actually fair to middling with California courses. But vocalizing woodland songbirds heard during this week’s John Deere sponsored event is the Quad Cities region on the Mississippi River area at Davenport, Iowa/Moline, IL have got me flumoxed.
I’m hearing at least two warblers and a thrush that do not compute.
For any fellow labirders who have the time and catch the golf channel on tv, you may consider trying your luck!
