Smart move. The birds have enough problems without striking windows.Regi ___________Protect what is left, recover what is lost of the fair earth. William Morris, “Art and the Beauty of the Earth.” 1881

Birdlovers, If we fit the windows of our homes with Acopian Bird Savers or other bird collision inhibitors we save the lives of many, many, many birds. It has reduced bird collisions with our windows by 99.9%. It's fairly easy and inexpensive to do. Complete instructions are available online. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more. 💐 Madonna Stallmann <madonnaoftheprairie...> On Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 10:05 PM Jerry Skinner <jay2of6...> wrote:
I found an adult male Common Yellowthroat on the ground beneath a window. it was clearly in distress from a collision. I put it in a box and in a quiet place. I checked on it several hours later. It was skittering about, seemingly in pretty good shape. I took it back outside and put the box on the ground. It flew out and across the lawn, but weakly. It set down in the middle of the yard.A robin flew low across the ground and touched at the warbler. As it flew off, only then did I see the "robin's" barred tail! A Sharp-shinned Hawk had been watching the event and made off with a quick snack! A sad ending for the Yellowthoat, but I have no issue with the hawk doing what hawks do.-- Cayugabirds-L List Info: Visit: http://LISTS.cornell.edu for more information Posting Address: <Cayugabirds-L...> Archives: The Mail Archive: //www.mail-archive.com/<cayugabirds-l...>/maillist.html" class="hft-urls">https://www.mail-archive.com/<cayugabirds-l...>/maillist.html Sightings: Please submit your observations to eBird at http://www.ebird.org. --
