Head down the trail on the right (north side) and it will head out to the beach. There is a small ravine and riparian corridor on your left as you are walking out. You eventually pop out on the beach. Head right and fairly quickly you will come upon the Hazard Reef rocks where the oystercatchers hang out, especially at high tide.
Google maps are not quite accurate, but the path starts from the cars in the photo (see below) on the right and then connects to the Dune Trail and then out to the beach.

Subject: [slocobirding] American Oystercatcher location
I need some help finding the American Oystercatcher. On the map linked to the posts here, there are three trails marked Hazard Canyon Reef Trail, and one MDO trail guide says Dune Trail. Which trail leads to the approximate bird location? Is there a sign at the trailhead? I am looking for the trail described as short (1 mile) with little elevation. Is there a sign at the trailhead?
