Hello all.
With the excitement of the Bodega trip this weekend with multiple
fantastic birds, including lots of Cook's Petrels. Well, we are hoping that
conditions remain for the July 5 trip out of Half Moon Bay. This is our
first dedicated deep water pelagic of the summer/fall season, and we will be
going out to where we hope to find the petrel and storm-petrel action. The
Pioneer Canyon is in San Francisco County, and we are certainly going to
head there, and if conditions are good, we often drift southward into
offshore San Mateo County as well. Currently the Half Moon Bay weather buoy
is showing ocean temperatures similar to what is happening in the Cordell
Bank, perhaps a tad warmer off Half Moon Bay.
