Thanks to everyone who responded about the loss of the Chestnut-sided Warblers eggs and the possibility of re-nesting.
I rarely react negatively to predation, and I’m sure the Blue Jay who took the eggs thoroughly enjoyed them, but jeezum, they were our babies! And that little female had sat on them during very hot sunny days and in close-to-freezing downpours!
