Subject: [ia-bird] Black-billed cuckoo Harrison co.
Early Saturday morning at Tyson bend wildlife Management area. I heard a
black billed cuckoo. It said "coo, coo, coo", paused, and repeated. It
would sing for 30 seconds to a minute stop and then start up again a few
minutes later.
And here's a cautionary tale. I recorded the song on Merlin. Then I
closed the app. On my old iPhone, all my bird songs were automatically
saved. But on my new Google phone. I have to select save. I didn't select
save.
I do have a short video that I believe includes the black Bill
singing. If anyone would like to hear it I can upload it.
