Cackling Goose (Branta hutchinsii) (1)
- Reported Jun 16, 2026 14:50 by Deanne King
- Morro Bay Estuary (use more specific location(s) when possible), San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.8501072&<ll...>,-120.8501072 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S358540000 - Comments: "On reed island west of state park and marina. Similar in color to Canada goose but smaller with distinct white ring on neck separating the brown to the black. Single bird. No flock or companions. Identified based on white ring on neck and that it was not with a flock or companion. Seemed smaller than a Canada goose, but that’s hard for me to accurately say for sure with no birds to compare in size."
