You may be interested to know that the *single nestling in the Osprey nest
at Cachuma Lake* is doing well. Cachuma Operations and Maintenance Board
(COMB) first saw the nestling on 27 May. On 13 June, I saw a large and
active nestling with two adults tending devotedly. One adult delivered to
the nest a Koi fish from a private pond on the south side (the mountain
side) of Highway 154.
This is the first confirmed nesting of Osprey in Santa Barbara County. It
is my understanding that neither of the two coastal counties next to us
have breeding records that have succeeded past the stage of carrying
nesting material.
