Subject: [NWCALBIRD] Yellow-rumped Warbler breeding distribution
Does anyone else have the impression that this species is becoming more
widespread as a breeder on the coastal plains? I used to associate it
strongly with Shore Pine, but now I find it widely (e.g., throughout
McKinleyville) in Knobcone/Monterey Pine and even Sitka Spruce stands.
Harris says, "limited numbers...breed at sea level in shore pines and
introduced conifers on [the] North Spit." The Humboldt BBA more or less
supports that assessment, with few exceptions.
