The field guide "Birds of Europe" by Mullarney et. al. is first class, but over-kill for Iceland alone. There is also an app version.
Not to replace a field guide, but are you familiar with the "Explore" feature of Merlin? You can download a "pack" for Europe, or the one just for Iceland, and have a mini-field guide on your phone. (Feel free to DM me, if you can't figure out how to set that up.
