Highlights: Wood Duck, Great Blue Heron, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Cedar Waxwing, Wood Thrush. In other news, both young recently fledged from the Red-tailed Hawk nest on Central Park South, while the nest on 5th Avenue and 74th Street is still a going concern and your best bet for views of a fluffy, young predator.

Mallard - 5
Mourning Dove - 25-35
Chimney Swift - 3 or 4
Laughing Gull - 1 adult Reservoir (Deb-early)
Ring-billed Gull - around 20
American Herring Gull - around 40
Great Black-backed Gull - 8
Double-crested Cormorant - 10
Great Egret - 2 Reservoir (Deb-early)
Great Blue Heron - 1 59th Street Pond (Sandra Critelli-Friday)
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 6-8
Northern Flicker - 1 heard Captain's Bench (Bob-early)
Great Crested Flycatcher - 2 in the Ramble
Eastern Wood-Pewee - 1 Captain's Bench (Bob-early)
Blue Jay - 5-7
Barn Swallow - 1 Lake (4 Reservoir, pair at nest, another pair carrying feathers)
Cedar Waxwing - 3 or 4
Gray Catbird - 8-10 including pair next to nest at Turtle Pond
Wood Thrush - 3
American Robin - 30-40
House Finch - 4-6
Song Sparrow - 1 singing Reservoir (Deb-early)
Baltimore Oriole - pair at nest Maintenance Field
