Subject: [OrangeCountyBirding] El Niño 2026 and effects on birding
Good morning,

With reports of the upcoming El Niño being the "biggest" (for a lack of more appropriate meteorological term) for some years, what does this mean for birding along the coast or offshore? I wasn't here for the previous big El Niño occurrence, but are there are birding events of interest to be forecast? I use "events" to mean unusual birding patterns, behaviour, migrations, vagrancies, etc., particularly as these El Niño conditions may last months into next year.

Thank you!
