Dropping a note to let folks know there is currently some fun going on out on Cape Horn Rd just east of Bayview, Idaho (Kootenai Co.). First off, the LEWIS'S WOODPECKERs are continuing out there the for their fifth (5th) year in a row. Have had up to six (6) at one time, but figure there are more around. This fun tale may turn on us though as last night (Thurs., 11 Jun'26) a couple bombed into one of our cherry trees to check out the pickings, and while not close to being ripe yet, thinking the trees will have a new member of the assault squad.
In addition to the Lewis's showing up after the fire out there cleared much of the hillside, we now have COMMON POORWILLs for the third (3rd) year in a row as have had at least one calling since last week, though have had multiple in the past; first heard on June 6th, then again last night as well.. They start calling around 9:30pm. If you have any questions, please let me know.
