While birding Black Star Canyon last week for around 5 hrs, my friend and I got back to the parking lot to find my car had been broken into, and both my and my friend’s spotting scopes were stolen from the trunk. Just a word of warning to anyone looking to hike there— take valuables with you or leave them at home.
