Date: 6/10/26 3:57 am From: Grove, Deborah Shuey <dsg4...> Subject: A morning at Hopewell CE and NE including Warriors Path SP
I went to Hopewell NE and CE in Bedford county on June 9 to atlas and so that I could also revisit Warriors Path SP. I also did 4 volunteer points in the area. We end up close by after our Williamsburg BBS route coming over the mountain from Blair county and that will be run June 11, finishing 5 BBS routes for Greg and I.
I had 17 Cerulean Warblers singing in WSP!
And multiples of many other species as well. I had a very nice walk and found that there was a road open between Memorial and Labor days along the river that I could drive along.
I had 41 species total.
Photos can be see online on FB include where my first atlas point was located in front of a restaurant we ate breakfast at once after our Williamsburg BBS route that comes out over the mountain from Blair county along Raver Run in Bedford county.
The two photos with concrete structures and buried in the trees are the remainder of a bridge from a railroad defunct for many years that went to Saxton.
And finally creatures I came upon on my walk in the park. Guess which one I almost stepped on! However it didn’t budge. Black Racer I think and a Wood Turtle.
I have included the species from the state park although the morning included other birds from other parts of the blocks, all coded except Cedar Waxwings that haven’t come into the breeding date yet.
