Migrants keep trickling through the northern half of San Francisco. Last Tuesday (the 2nd), an ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER was eating blackberries behind the General's Residence at Fort Mason, and two WESTERN WOOD-PEWEES were in the Battery. A WESTERN FLYCATCHER was at El Polin. On Wednesday, a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK was singing constantly at El Polin, as were two WESTERN WARBLING VIREOS. On Thursday one WESTERN WARBLING VIREO remained at El Polin, and a WESTERN TANAGER sang nearby. On Friday, at Kobbe and Upton in the Presidio, an OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER and a WESTERN TANAGER were both quite vocal. On Sunday, a late migrating WESTERN KINGBIRD was on the west side of the garden at Fort Mason. Yesterday the only potential migrant at El Polin was a WESTERN FLYCATCHER (which could spend the summer).
Today the surprise was a flock of 42! LONG-BILLED CURLEWS in Crissy Field Lagoon, accompanied by five MARBLED GODWITS.
