Since I hadn't seen any recent reports about the status of the Bird found on Calle Real about a month ago, I decided to check it out with Steve Colwell this morning. We neither heard nor saw any sign of this bird.
We decided to walk past the other yellow gate (to the east) to see what else might be in the area. The further we went, the more birds we found. Among other things, we had both Hooded and Bullock's Orioles, lots of Western Blue birds including spotted young birds, Cassin's Kings birds apparently feeding young, some large Swallow flocks, and other things that made the morning interesting. I think we had 31 species total. There is a creek with water in at the bottom of the road before it starts back uphill toward the gate at Farren Road. Worth checking from time to time.
