6/2- Allen’s Meadow, Wilton
We’ve been trying for 4 years to establish a Purple Martin colony at New Pond Farm Education Center in Redding; each year 2nd yr birds check out the gourds but don’t stick around. Today while monitoring the 14 Eastern Bluebird boxes I have around the meadow at Allen’s, I was stunned to hear PUMA singing. Sure enough a pair of birds was checking out one of the boxes- they won’t nest with that setup but the irony was marked.
