Subject: [sbcobirding] No luck on Scarlet Tanager June 1
I looked for the bird along Refugio Canyon Road, checking the area from which it was reported to 5. miles above and below it, from 6:15 to about 9 a.m. this morning.  I had no success in locating it.Wile I was there another birder made a brief survey of the canyon going as far up as the Circle Bar B, and they had no success either.
When I left, another birder was still looking and one more birder arrived to begin, so perhaps they had success; However my feeling is that the bird moved on overnight.  This has been the pattern with most spring Eastern vagrant species, in my experience.
