Subject: [sbcobirding] Scarlet Tanager on Refugio Road
This morning Lynn spotted a male Scarlet Tanager while we birding along Refugio Rd. It was foraging and singing in the Sycamore trees along the Creek just south of the main entrance to the Rancho Guacamole orchard at approx., 34.501607, -120.066313. Lehman describes this species as a “Casual fall vagrant” and there are only two records in eBird of it being seen in SB County during the Spring. We saw it around 11:15 am and it was reported to be continuing at the same location at 1:30pm.
