Subject: [CALBIRDS] SLO American Oystercatcher
[Edited Message Follows]

Hello everyone,

A few days ago an American Oystercatcher was found in the Morro Bay area. Since then it has been photographed and reported quite a few times to Ebird.  Looking at the photos, it appears to have a exceptionally splotchy breast / belly demarcation and a reduced amount of white in the secondaries.

I have no experience using the Jehl Index but could this represent an American- Black Oystercatcher intergrade or does this look like a solid "frazari" subspecies?

I would really appreciate the opinion of others more experienced than I with American Oystercatchers regarding this bird.

Thanks!
RJ Adams
