Subject: [sbcobirding] Black Skimmer
SB Birders,

Today while out driving roads trying to assess Barn Owl hatch, and checking ponds. I found a Black Skimmer at a farm pond on Hwy 246 and Campbell Ranch Road, this is about 6 miles west of Buellton. The Skimmer has been there all day and was still present as of 5:00pm.
Other birds of note, the White-tailed Kites are making many trips to their nest site along the SY River a mile west of Hwy 101.
I have 3 singing Purple Finch still singing in my neighborhood along with fly over Lawrence’s Goldfinches.

Good birding.
