Little Blue Heron (Egretta caerulea) (1)
- Reported May 24, 2026 18:43 by Erin Jarvis
- Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.5283666&<ll...>,-119.5283666 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S345989721 - Comments: "Darkish blue body with reddish head ... thought it was a little blue heron (which I've never seen) but when I reverse image searched Merlin presented me with Reddish Egret, which seems more likely. Had a taller posture and beautiful "mane". Have photo to upload.
UPDATE: After discussing sighting with local birder the next day, I'm updating from reddish egret back to little blue heron. Better sighting the next day."
