With the exception of the cuckoos and green heron other summer residents have arrived. Some include Indigo buntings, orchard and Baltimore orioles, scarlet tanagers and one sighting of summer tanager, r. b. grosbeaks, crested flycatchers, E. king bird, E. pewee, E. phoebe, one Empidonax?, red-headed woodpecker, grasshopper sparrow, y. b. chat, American redstart, common yellowthroat, prothonotary warbler, blue-winged warbler, northern parula, Kentucky warbler, yellow warbler, prairie warbler, and worm eating warbler. Vireos include red-eyed, white-eyed, warbling, and yellow-throated. Warblers passing through have included bay-breasted, black throated green, Tennessee, Nashville, chestnut sided, magnolia, black and white, blackburnian, and yellow-rumped. The Amelanchier has an abundance of berries maturing and has is attracting Swainson's thrush, scarlet tanagers, both oriole species, kingbirds, and cedar waxwings. Doug Johnstone, Morgan Co.
