Subject: Mississippi Kite pair in Palmer, Washington Co.
I acknowledge Mississippi Kites are becoming pretty common in Kansas, but they’re still rare enough in Washington County that I get excited when I see them.

Last year was the first year I saw an individual in Palmer, Washington County.

On Sunday, I saw two kites fly over my yard and today two kites swooped in and perched on a snag in my yard for a while.

They have nested in the City of Washington previously, but their nesting tree blew over after 2-3 years of nests. I’ll be watching to see if this will be a nesting pair.
