Subject: [CT Birds] Grasshopper Sparrow at Roberts Field, Bristol
At least one Grasshopper Sparrow has returned to Roberts Field in Bristol. I was there yesterday afternoon and thought I heard the soft buzzy trill of the sparrows, and Merlin picked up on it as well. Because there were distant blue wing warblers calling as well, I wanted to listen to the recordings first and make sure it wasn’t a mis-identification. Sure enough, it was there. Hopefully, there’s a pair and they’ll have a successful nesting season.
