Hello Everyone,
I will be giving a performance of my bird themed concert in Bowling Green
at the end of the month and thought some of you would be interested!
It will be at Bowling Green's First Christian Church (875 Haskins Rd,
Bowling Green) on May 31 at 4pm. Admission is free, but donations are
appreciated. I'll be leading a bird walk at Wintergarden afterwards!
I've prepared a wide variety of bird inspired pieces, including a world
premiere, and will be incorporating many of my own field recordings into
the performance. This program is based on a similar concert I gave last
year at Lawrence University, so if you want to learn more about it, I've
put together some info on my website:
https://www.kaifrueh.com/kais-bird-concert/
This year's program will include:
Amy Beach's Hermit Thrush at Eve Op 72
Jean Philippe Rameau's Le Rappel des Oiseaux
Maurice Ravel's Oiseaux Tristes
Olivier Messiaen's L'alouette Des Champs from Petites Esquisses d'oiseaux
Julia Tchira's Upland Sandpiper – Batitú
Brad Balliett's Nickerson Beach
Thomas Meinzen's Remnants (world premiere)
My own composition/improvisation called A Woodland Soundscape
Feel free to share with anyone else who would be interested in hearing some
bird inspired music! And feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Good birding,
Kai
