Subject: [CT Birds] Delayed CT Birds emails
Hello again CT Birders -

Unfortunately, we seem to be having residual problems with some Yahoo, AOL and snet.net email accounts, together with a few others.

For some members with those email addresses, it seems that some CT Birds emails that were sent last week were delayed. Some of them are only beginning to be received today.

It is best practice to check our website for the latest messages since that removes the possibility of delays caused by email issues.

Here's a link to the CT Birds website: https://lists.ctbirding.org/empathy/list/ctbirds.lists.ctbirding.org

Error emails
Some of the email accounts above may also be receiving error emails that should've been received last week.

There should be no need to report the error emails at this point – if it is a new error, I will be notified and take action. All the issues from last week were cleared and the disabled accounts were all reactivated.

Instant messages for bird reports
As discussed a couple of years ago, CT Birds is best used for discussion. If you are interested in instant reports of birds, you should join one of the GroupMe groups run by Aidan Kiley. GroupMe is an application on your smartphone and it allows you to receive real time information, thus it eliminates all of the quirks that can happen with email systems. Below are the links to those groups:

Rare Birds CT: https://web.groupme.com/chats/group/83300607
CT non-rare reports: https://web.groupme.com/chats/group/95922127

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
