No luck on the kittiwake.
I got there at about 6:15 and searched all around the lake, including three stops at Timber Cove, before calling it day at about 11:45 at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. It was hard enough just to find ANY gulls this time of year and with the lake so high!!
Nice to get out and just bird around a bit though. Picked up lots of atlassing observations for the CA Bird Atlas, and the best was the incredibly small and incredibly cute Sandhill Crane colt at the Upper Truckee Marsh, best seen off San Francisco Ave.
