Weather: 48F with mild wind NNW upon arrival at Site 1A. Temperatures and wind remained consistent during the 3 hours devoted to today's count. A pleasant spring afternoon with panoramic views of the Lake Erie south shoreline, the Concord Grape Vineyards and the ever-changing escarpment as springtime proceeds.
Raptor Observations: Started the count from Site 1A @ 10:00 AM. Mild NW wind @ .4 - 1.1 MPH was enough to push the meager flight up the escarpment. 28 TV's; 2 full adult BE's' 2 Red-Tails, and only 1 BW came through during today's 3 hour duration.
Non-raptor Observations: As usual, local Bald Eagles were traveling back and forth from the Lake's shore to the escarpment, along with a showing of local Red Tails and TV's. There were very few migrating non-raptors in today's mostly empty skies.
Predictions: Cloudy skies during the morning hours followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon. High 62F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Depending on the remaining raptors in the pipeline, the predicted weather conditions are favorable. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Michael Ceci (<michael.ceci541...>) Ripley Hawk Watch information may be found at: www.facebook.com/groups/3193820734258889/
