I highly recommend the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve, I believe run by the
National Park Service. Perhaps a little bit out of your way, but a really
cool place! However, I can't remember how long the trail I took through
the prairie was. I don't remember it being super long, but probably longer
than you can do. There is a nice visitor center and I think some lookouts
you can take without doing the boardwalk/trail.
