Subject: [sbcobirding] Bell’s Vireo West of Goleta
One and perhaps a pair of Bell’s Vireo is in weedy vegetation between a frontage road and Highway 101 on the north side of the highway. Navigate to 34.43992, -119.93529. The turn off from 101 is about 200 m east of the coordinates where one will see a yellow gate. Best to not obstruct that gate but park and walk west on the frontage road.
This is a federally endangered species and playback is probably illegal. Recording and photo obtained. First heard at about 7:45 am. First detected by Heather Cox on 5 May.
