Weather:
The morning started out with mostly cloudy skies, temps in the 50s, and SW
winds at 10-15mph. The clouds didnt last long and it soon became mostly
sunny. In the afternoon, a high, thin cloud layer started to form, but that
also didnt last long. Temps reached a high of 73F, and winds continued SW
at 10-20mph all day.

Raptor Observations:
The Broad-wings just keep coming! Todays flight was dominated by adult
Broad-winged Hawks with a total of 5,059. The majority of birds today were
high and lakeside, fighting their way back after being blown out over the
lake. It was also another great day for Sharp-shinned Hawks with birds
moving all day totaling 478. Bald Eagles (62), Red-tailed Hawks (26), and
Northern Harriers (26) were also mixed in. Todays numbers officially push
our season total past last years total, and we still have all of May left!

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays were abundant, but flocks kept circling back and spent a while
over the west spit before heading east, so there were probably only around
2,000. There were a few warblers flying over in the morning including one
Magnolia Warbler. My first Baltimore Oriole of the season also flew past
the platform. A Black Tern flew into the bay and headed up towards Salmon
Creek in the morning.
