The Sioux Falls Bird Club will hold its May field trip this coming Saturday the 9th. We will meet at the Outdoor Campus East (4500 S Oxbow Ave) at 7:30 a.m. to organize carpooling, and then proceed to Good Earth State Park. For any east-siders or others who wish to go directly to Good Earth instead of carpooling, we will arrive out there by 8:00 a.m. and regroup in the parking lot.
We'll plan to do a slow walk on the Vista Loop trail (with the three observation decks) from the visitor center, which is smooth, crushed limestone and fairly flat, perhaps a mile or so total distance, with lots of stops and starts. There are a few benches along the way as well. We may also have a small group staying close to the visitor center and feeders, as there is plenty of bird activity there too for those who don't want to walk far.
We'll probably be done at Good Earth by late morning and back to the OC by midday (I wouldn't rule out a stop at the Harmodon Park wetland on the way back in to town). All are welcome to join, you do not need to be a club member to attend.
