Although Summer Tanagers have become an almost annual sight in South Dakota, it is still fun to find one. Yesterday I found a female at Lake Agnes in northern Kingsbury County. I watched her fly-catching for quite awhile, but she wasn't cooperative enough for a photo. Lake Agnes is not posted as private, but also not posted as public. But being about the only big stand of trees in the county, I walked around on the trails for quite awhile, finding many first-of-county birds.
