Subject: Big Day (Saturday May 9th) at Ozark Isle Nature Preserve
To celebrate Global Big Day & to participate (barely) in the Arkansas
Audubon Big Day competition, the North Central Arkansas Master Naturalist
(NCAMN) birding group is hosting a birding walk
<https://arkansasmasternaturalists.org/content.aspx?page_id=4091&club_id=250502&item_id=2947156>
at
Ozark Isle. Rather than doing a traditional big day, we are hoping to have
a big day at the Ozark Isle Nature Preserve
<https://www.marioncountypartners.com/ozark-isle-nature-preserve> by
finding more species at this Marion County eBird hotspot
<https://ebird.org/hotspot/L469238> in a single morning than the previous
high for a day.

We plan to bird from 9 am to around noon walking 3-5 miles on old paved
roads. This walk is free and open to the public. You can join for any
portion of the walk; the causeway to access the preserve is approximately
3/4 of a mile one way, so out and back makes a nice 1.5 mile walk. After
crossing the causeway, there are several miles of old paved campground
roads to walk.

There are no facilities at the preserve.

Happy Spring Migration,

Heather Cook
