We had a great migration day Tuesday at Armleder. YB Cuckoos back, Black and white warbler,
Blackpoll, Swainsons thrushes, marsh wren! Tennessee, redstart, Blackburnian. Etc. and
I missed stuff - like cape May, etc. that marsh wren has been sticking. A wettish field. With small
Shrubs. Interesting……I can’t imagine it will stick that much longer…. The habitat! But
Birds are adaptable now and then. I was here that morning to check on shorebirds.
An old farmers field has been good here. But that was it. Migration dried up pretty quick!
The weather…… I chased a Little Blue Heron Thursday was it? Gone…….that would have been
A good one for the big year!
It’s been slow down here. And I am afraid when the floodgates open, birds will just pass us
By……
178 for the big year. So far. Sat. Is the Oxbow, Inc. bird a thon. Friends and I will bird
Hamilton County. My team captain thinks we can do 100! I am a bit doubtful with no
Migrants. We will see! I have my winter gear back out…….
Good birding all.
