Subject: [sbcobirding] Grasshopper Sparrow on Farren Road
Jim Hodgson mentioned that he had heard a Grasshopper Sparrow on Farren yesterday morning so this morning I checked and found it at the location he described. It was down in the valley on the west side of the road at approx. 34.446750, -119.921961. This is about 100 yrds or so beyond the northern end of the ‘500’ property. I was joined by Zach Phillips and we did a brief bout of song playback and the bird flew in and perched briefly on the wire fence before flying back down into the valley. It remained visible in the distance for a while.
