today, i was again reminded of what is so right and so good about the birding community in south dakota yesterday, cheryl vellenga shared her observation of a very rare ruff with the rest of us she could have just rested on her laurels but no, instead she was out early returning to the scene of the crime to assist others in finding what was probably a life bird and certainly a state bird for all those fortunate enough to see it we have all benefited from such altruism from other birders and should all be grateful and proud of our community for as ricky olson says "sharing is half the fun of birding"
