Weather: Light rain before the start of the watch, and again between 9:00 - 9:30. Strong southerly winds coupled with 100% cloud cover hampered the flight for the first 4 hours. The wind somewhat subsided during the afternoon. During the last two hours, conditions became more favorable resulting in a modest flight.
Raptor Observations: During the first two hours, raptors were low over the vineyards and the field south of Rt 5. The BW flight didn't begin until the 11:00 hour. During the last two hour's favorable conditions, 215 BW's were counted. There was a good variety of raptors during today's count, all of which took place at Site 1A located on Rt 5. Mike Ceci joined the watch at noon, and Kate Ebersol arrived at 1:15. Upon Andy's departure at 1:30, Mike Ceci took over as official counter.

Predictions: For Wednesday 04/28/2026, rain is likely with a high 53F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph. The chance of rain is 100%. Total rainfall will be approximately 1/2 inch.
