Observation start time: 08:30:00 Observation end time: 12:00:00 Total observation time: 3.5 hours
Official Counter: Jerry McWilliams
Observers: Jerry McWilliams, Julie Leonard
Visitors: Julie Leonard assisted with the count.
Weather: Mostly cloudy, strong gusty winds from the SW with mild temps.
Raptor Observations: Highlight of the morning was a small all white falcon flying low to the NE believed to be an American kestrel! A fairly steady light movement of birds remaining low through the day, likely because of the low cloud cover and high winds. Birds were moving close to the lake until after mid-day when the flight shifted inland, despite the continued SW wind.
Non-raptor Observations: Purple Martin, Barn Swallow, Tree Swallow, Chimney Swift, American Goldfinch, Great Blue Heron 2, Common Loon 4, American Robin, Wild Turkey 1, Ring-billed/Herring gulls, American Crow, Common Grackle, several large flocks of Blue Jays and several large flocks of cowbirds.
Predictions: Colder with periods of rain and NE wind. No hawkwatching tomorrow.Jerry McWilliamsErie, Erie County, <Pa.jerrymcw...>
