Subject: [Ohio-birds] Hamilton county big year - slow
I am picking up returning breeders slowly. I don’t rush! There’s butterflies, botany,
And odes to enjoy! RB Grosbeak, summer tanager, great crested fly new lately.
I tried for Virginia Rail this afternoon. No success! Fernald - it was calling at mid day.
It decided to bed quiet for the late afternoon! Oh well, there will be other chances.

164 at present. Doing ok. It’s not May yet!

Migrants seem a bit slow down here. No idea why!

Was on Connor’s Boyer farm trip this morning. Warren county. Yes, I hit other counties!
An absolutely spectacular spot! And trip! 73 species for the place. In two hours! It’s the
Wetland part I love! I wish it was open to the public!

Good birding all.
