or 3) record early or late date or unusual for time of year. Any species
with three asterisks (***species***) would represent a first record for
Iowa (UNRECORDED) and should be observed and documented very carefully.
Species with two asterisks (**species**) are species that are either
ACCIDENTAL, CASUAL, or a rare regular species, and should also be
documented. Species with one asterisk (*species) should have some details
of the observation provided.

Please note this is an UNOFFICIAL compilation of rare bird sightings from
both eBird and the IOU listserve. Data for field reports and early/late
dates should not be taken from this weekly report.

An early NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was seen at Deere Dike Park and Riverside
Road on the 19th.

A BLACK-NECKED STILT was seen at Deere Dike Park on the 22nd.

A PINE WARBLER was seen at Eagle Point Park on the 22nd.

A RUFFED GROUSE was seen at White Pine Hollow on the 24th.

ALLAMAKEE COUNTY

5 BLACK-NECKED STILT was seen at Pool Slough WMA on the 22nd.

BLACK HAWK COUNTY

A HOODED WARBLER was seen at George Wyth SP on the 21st.

BREMER COUNTY

8 BLACK-NECKED STILTS were seen at Sweet Marsh on the 23rd.

EAST

BENTON COUNTY

An early NASHVILLE WARBLER was seen at Winegar Park on the 18th.

MUSCATINE COUNTY

An early NORTHERN YELLOW WARBLER was seen at Wiese Slough on the 19th.

JOHNSON COUNTY

An early NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was seen at the Greencastle Ave Causeway at
Hawkeye WA on the 19th.

6 BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING DUCKS were seen at Top Shape Pond on the 23rd.

2 BLACK-NECKED STILTS was seen at Amana Rd at Hawkeye WA on the 23rd.

IOWA COUNTY

10 WHITE-FACED IBIS were seen at Amana Lily Pond on the 18th.

3 BLACK-NECKED STILTS were seen at Amana Lily Pond on the 23rd.

LINN COUNTY

A RED-NECKED GREBE was seen at Pleasant Creek SRA on the 20th.

JACKSON COUNTY

A BLACK-NECKED STILT was seen at Green Island WMA on the 22nd.

JONES COUNTY

A PINE WARBLER was seen at Beam Woods on the 20th.

SOUTHEAST

DES MOINES COUNTY

A FISH CROW was seen at Starrs Cave Park on the 18th.

LOUISA COUNTY

An early NORTHERN YELLOW WARBLER was seen at Cone Marsh on the 19th.

VAN BUREN COUNTY

An early RED-EYED VIREO was seen along the Des Moines River on the 22nd.

CENTRAL

POLK COUNTY

A CINNAMON TEAL was seen at Moeckley Prairie on the 20th.

A HOODED WARBLER was seen at Ashworth and Greenwood Park on the 23rd.

A PIPING PLOVER was seen at Saylorville on the 23rd.

GREENE COUNTY

An early INDIGO BUNTING was seen in Jefferson on the 19th.

TAMA COUNTY

2 BLACK-NECKED STILTS were seen at Otter Creek Marsh on the 22nd.

SOUTH CENTRAL

RINGGOLD COUNTY

An early DICKCISSEL was seen at Poe Hollow County Park on the 18th.

DECATUR COUNTY

A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen on the 19th.

SOUTHWEST

FREMONT COUNTY

A BLACK-NECKED STILT was seen at Riverton WMA on the 19th.
